lazuli honeythorn rede
L a z u l i H o n e y t h o r n R e d e
Species: Fairy (shape-shifter)
Age: 287 Solar Years
Habitat: Mythos Forest along the River Phaeh
Likes: Sweets, flowers, herbs, tea, insects, shiny things, gems
Dislikes: Toadstools, fire pixies, iron, mirrors, bitter tastes, rock homes
Abilities: Glamour/faerie magic, golem magic, white magic
Appearance:
Humanoid: about 4'9" with golden skin and cinnamon/scarlet hair. Lazuli's eyes are blue with gold and peach flecks. His skin glitters gold (as if sprayed with glitter spray) when lit by firelight and silver when lit by moonlight. He does not display wings and appears to lack the ability of flight. His clothes are typically earth-toned and change with the seasons, although he is always decorated with an array of gems, flowers, leaves and feathers. Lazu is always wearing his jingle bow, an earthen sash and a leg pouch filled with fairy money and shiny things, and will wear a heavy cloak made of fur when winter comes. During the Month of Ancestry, he grows small, slightly pointed horns on his forehead. After that month's full moon they recede.
Canine: Lazuli shifts into the form of a red husky/fox type dog, with the appropriate blue/teal and black markings. As always, his jingle bow is present. The colour of both his eyes and his markings changes with the seasons, from a pale blue in the winter to a greenish blue in spring; a more violet colour in autumn and a vivid blue in summer.
Trademark: Black jingle bow; bell is carved from quartz. It was a special gift from an as-yet unidentified donor. Considering the nature of the gift (hand-woven silk and a hand-carved quartz gem) it is a very personal/intimate token.
Biography
Unsure of his origins, Lazuli is a shape-shifting fairy with a bold and friendly spirit. He is quite curious at heart and means no harm but has a bit of a mischievous streak to him--he's inclined to pranks and practical jokes. Either a wandering youth or abandoned child, he grew up along the Phaeh River, making the great trees and tall ferns his home. His shifting abilities, however, remain greatly undeveloped as he is barely out of childhood.
As a tween he developed his skills in golem and white magick, using both to play tricks on unsuspecting passersby. One of his victims was a willful sprite with whom he was well acquainted (as a matter of fact, she was the sprite who'd given him the bell ribbon); unamused by his trickery, she retaliated against Lazuli by binding him in the form of a dog. "Let's see you get out of this one," she had laughed. "When you can reverse my spell, then and only then are you capable of magick."
